We Want You!
Volunteering for the Trail of Terror
From monsters to ticket-takers to maintenance and construction, we’re looking for several ghould – make that “good” – men and women. Local students commonly fill acting roles, but we can always use specialized logistics and support personnel. With the conclusion of the 2019 season, we are no longer requesting assistance with the Trail. Please watch this space for updates. For additional questions, see our contact form!
All volunteers must be 14 years of age or older at the time of the Trail event. We apologize to those who turn 14 on 1 November – them’s the breaks. We appreciate your enthusiasm and we’ll see you next year!
All volunteers must complete Trail of Terror registration, attend one orientation session, and provide photo ID with proof of age. We accept the following forms of identification. Please note this list is not exhaustive; contact us with questions.
- Driver’s licenses
- Learner’s permits
- State-issued ID cards
- Military ID cards
- Student ID cards with proof of birthday (e.g., birth certificates). Student IDs alone are insufficient as they do not have a date of birth printed on them.
All volunteers – even those who have participated in prior seasons – must attend an orientation session. Topics covered will include attendance expectations, Trail layout and safety rules, operations with fire department personnel, and communications requirements. Sessions will be held at Stoney Point Fire Department Station 13, with registration verification from 6-7 PM and orientation from 7-9:30 PM. All registration information must be verified in order to participate in orientation.
Please watch this space for orientation session announcements!
After attending orientation, please download and read The Actor’s Handbook!
Calling all ghouls, goblins, ghosts, haunts, haints, zombies, vampires, werewolves, therewolves, lichs, and other undead: now announcing the Pre-Show Workshops!
Nervous? Need to hone your craft? Get tips from veteran actors at our practice sessions. We will discuss staying in-character, customer interactions, scene and prop utilization, and much more! All workshops will be conducted in advance of Trail operations while awaiting appropriate make-up and costuming from Trail staff.
